Take a Voice Lesson

Ryan teaches over 100 students from his home studio in the Bathurst/St. Clair area in Toronto.

At each lesson, Ryan designs a very specific "vocal workout" for the singer based on their vocal needs and ability at that moment. With the MUSOVOX approach, we add as much musicality to every vocal exercise as possible. This includes arpeggios and scales rarely used in voice training, chord progressions and drums. This is much more fun than a typical voice lesson and develops the musical ear at the same time.

We also spend time improvising and working on licks and runs.

Students also benefit immensely from Ryan's musical ability and regularly get the opportunity to sing with live accompaniment, on guitar and piano. A very important, and often overlooked, skill rarely addressed in typical vocal instruction.

Later in the voice lesson, the singer works at applying their new abilities to songs, singing songs of their choice and learning how to do it without strain and vocal imbalance. Of course, we never forget how important it is to connect emotionally to what we do and move an audience.

Are online lessons effective?

While there's no question that an in-person lesson is preferable, online lessons are extremely effective. Ryan is able to quickly diagnose vocal issues the same way. Many of Ryan's students have busy performing schedules that make in-person time difficult.
